The record-breaking beauty Joey Yung is known to be both a singer and actress. She is a Cantonese pop music household name, winning Most Popular Female Singer and Ultimate Best Female Singer – Gold for eight times. She was included in the Forbes 2013 Chinese Celebrity List, ranking fifty second. She made an estimated 29,200,000 RMB in 2012.
From a young age, Joey Yung already enjoyed singing karaoke and joining singing contests. For her acting career, she has been part of the Emperor Entertainment Group since 1998. She developed her skills in singing and performing with the help of mentor Roman Tam. She practiced via concerts that she toured with.
When she came out with her first album, she beat record holder Jacky Cheung in terms of having her album stay on the IFPI album charts for the most number of weeks consecutively. Just in Hong Kong, her album sold 130,000 copies.

Apart from going Platinum, most of her albums also got into the Top Ten Selling Albums of certain years.Her film debut was in the year 2000, entitled “Winner Takes All”. She also started with her television drama debut, “The Green Hope”. She released “Don’t Miss” as well as “Who Will Love Me”, which are her second EP and first studio album, respectively. Her first concert also happened the same year, entitled “Joey Yung’s See You Everywhere Live Concert”, in the Hong Kong Coliseum. She won the role of spokesperson for numerous brands, such as The Red Cross Movement, Netvigator, and Four Seas.
